The 16-year-old was seriously assaulted on Union Street, near to the junction with Gordon Street, around 3pm on Tuesday.
The boy was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment where his condition is currently unknown.Police are now appealing for anyone who witnesses the attack on the busy street to get in touch. Constable Craig Whyte, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are at an early stage and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to get in touch.
“As the incident happened close to a road we are also appealing for drivers with dashcams to review footage to establish if their cameras have captured the incident.
