Luke Littler, the 17-year-old darting prodigy, will face the experienced Michael van Gerwen in the final of the tournament after both players secured impressive victories.
17-year-old Luke Littler, ranked fourth in the world, entered this tournament with high expectations after a strong debut season. He received a bye in the first round and defeated Ryan Meikle 3-1. While his early matches showed a slower pace, he eventually overcame tougher challenges from Ian White and Ryan Joyce. Against his friend Nathan Aspinall in the quarterfinals, Littler found his form, winning 5-2.
He continued his momentum with a dominant semi-final victory against Stephen Bunting, winning 6-1. Meanwhile, Michael van Gerwen had a difficult 2024 but arrived at the Ally Pally full of confidence. He easily defeated James Hurrell, Brendan Dolan, and Jeffrey de Graaf in earlier rounds. Callan Rydz put up a fight in the quarterfinals but was eventually beaten 5-3. Van Gerwen then faced Chris Dobey in the semi-finals, who had also been on a strong run. In a similar fashion to Littler's victory against Bunting, van Gerwen won 6-1, setting the stage for tonight's final. This tournament has been a spectacle, and we anticipate a thrilling conclusion
