A 16-year-old has been convicted of murder for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend's 15-year-old friend during a dispute over a teddy bear. The incident occurred in Croydon, South London, after a series of online threats and demands for the return of personal belongings.

A teenager who chased down and fatally stabbed his ex-girlfriend's 15-year-old friend in a dispute over a teddy bear has been found guilty of murder. The victim, Elianne, was defending her friend, who had broken up with Sentamu ten days prior, when she took possession of a bag containing her friend's belongings, including a teddy bear that Sentamu had given her.

Sentamu pursued Elianne, and during a confrontation outside the Whitgift Centre in Croydon, South London, he stabbed her in the neck, inflicting a 12cm wound. The incident occurred after a series of online exchanges where Sentamu demanded his belongings back and threatened Elianne if she didn't comply. He had messaged her saying: 'You can collect your ting on Wednesday before skl I’m gonna need my s*** tho from the clothes to the pillows and flowers.” On September 27, 2023, Sentamu arranged a meeting with his ex-girlfriend to exchange bags, and Elianne accompanied her. When Elianne took the bag containing Sentamu's possessions as a gesture of solidarity, Sentamu reacted violently. He pulled out a large knife concealed in his hoodie and attacked Elianne, who begged him to stop. Sentamu stabbed Elianne, severing an artery, and fled the scene, leaving her to bleed to death. He later discarded the knife nearby. While in youth custody, Sentamu made chilling threats to another inmate who accused him of killing girls. He said, 'I'll do it again. I'll do it to your mum.' The prosecution argued that Sentamu's actions were not a result of any mental health condition but were fueled by anger and a desire to assert dominance. They emphasized that he had taken the knife to the meeting with the intention of harming Elianne
