A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after being struck on the head with a bottle by two masked men in Laurieston, Glasgow. The attack occurred on Monday evening on Bedford Street. Police are investigating the incident and appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage to come forward.
The incident happened on Monday, January 13, on Bedford Street, in Laurieston, where the 16-year-old was walking with friends at around 7.40pm when he was approached by two men with their faces covered and hit over the head with a bottle.
He attended the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and was later released. Police say enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for the help of the public, with anyone with information asked to come forward. Detective Constable Lauren Moffat said: “Our work is ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
“We know the area was busy with traffic and I would ask anyone who has dash-cam or private CCTV footage which could assist us to contact us. “Incidents of this nature can understandably cause concern to the local community however we are following a number of lines of enquiry and there will continue to be additional patrols in the area to provide reassurance.” Sign up to our daily Glasgow Live newsletter here to receive news and features direct to your inbox
