Two teenagers were hunted down and arrested after an alleged break-in at a sewage works in Nottinghamshire. Police were called to Halls Lane, Giltbrook, at around 6.45pm on Monday, June 3, after a CCTV operator saw intruders on the Severn Trent Water site.
Nottinghamshire Police flew over the scene with a drone, which officers said observed two people trying to get into the sewage plant through a metal fence. The pair of suspects were then tracked by a police dog and its handler before being arrested on a towpath alongside Nottingham Canal. Two 15-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary. Inspector Lisa Schooling, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Sites like this can be tempting targets for thieves so we would always urge firms to take every possible measure to keep them as secure as possible.“This is a large, open site so the use of a drone was vital to monitor the scene when we first arrived.
