A 19-year-old boy was stabbed at the bandstand in Newsham Park on Monday
Two teens will appear in court tomorrow charged with the attempted murder of a 19-year-old boy who was stabbed in Newsham Park on Monday. Merseyside Police were called by paramedics to the bandstand at the west end of Newsham Park at around 5.55pm on Monday, August 19, where the victim was found with stab wounds to his upper body. The teen was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being stabbed in a 'violent assault'.
David Whiteley, 19, of Portelet Road in Old Swan, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place and possession of ketamine. A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place. Following the attack Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said: “Enquiries are in the very early stages to establish what has taken place.
