The alert draws attention to the risks posed to people over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions
has been issued across large parts of England for this weekend, with temperatures of up to 32°C expected in places.
The joint UK Health Security Agency and Met Office notice covers seven regions: London, the East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, South East, South West and Yorkshire and the Humber.It runs from 9am on Friday 23 June to 9am on Monday 26 June, drawing attention to the risks posed to people over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions.
“Forecast temperatures this week could primarily impact those over the age of 65 or those with pre-existing health conditions. If you have friends, family or neighbours who are more vulnerable, it is important to check in on them and ensure they are aware of the forecasts and are following the necessary advice.”
