More on Nick Chubb's effective running, Dawand Jones filling in at right tackle and Dustin Hopkins making a nice first impression.
Garrett took four snaps at what Pro Football Focus deemed to be an inside linebacker spot. It was a combination of nose tackle and roving linebacker as Garrett moved inside on pass downs and sort of chose his matchup, and on those four plays Cleveland recorded a sack and three incompletions. Per PFF, Garrett had recorded just 12 snaps as a box defender in 2022 and 15 as an interior line rusher. In 2021, he took no inside linebacker snaps and five as an interior defensive lineman.
Presumably, the Browns will continue moving Garrett to keep opponents thinking about how they’ll shift their blocking schemes. Smith also had four box snaps, per PFF. Smith took 19 snaps on the left side and 14 on the right side, as Schwartz kept his best rushers active.is still the Browns’ best offensive player. Chubb finished with 106 rushing yards at 5.
