Another fantastic response towards addressing Liverpool & District Angling Association’s ongoing stocking programme on the Leeds Liverpool Canal this week, has again led to a superb introduction of quality tench going into our famous water.
With the success of the angling share schemes that have been put into place with Lymm AA, Port Sunlight AC and now more recently with Newton Angling Association, these agreements have resulted in an increase of membership numbers identified. This together with important match fees accumulated throughout the year, the funds raised have again, as promised, been immediately directed to the ongoing fish stocking programme.
As the fish now take up residence within the two areas, many anglers will have many fond personal memories of this lusty fighter, a fish that has a powerful attribute within its skills for all to see when hooked. I’m sure there cant be an angler reading this today who cannot agree that this stocking will be of massive importance to improving the healthy wider balance to our fish stocks, particularly our tench numbers.
On the bank, or should I say the beach this week, Mark Allanson took the best catch of the day to win round one of Sefton Sea Anglers’ Winter League on Sunday which had 23 keen enthusiasts lined up at Brunswick.
