Kellie Finlayson has opened up on the devastating role-reversal moment she delivered her terminal cancer diagnosis toThe 27-year-old mother-of-one is currently undergoing another round of chemotherapy in a bid to hit remission but is well aware of her mortality.
“Having been diagnosed for 12 months, I was quite switched on with everything and knew how to read the screens,” Kellie told Channel 7 commentator Hamish McLachlan in a“He was showing me where it had spread, he turned the computer around and the cancer was everywhere. It was in my pelvis, through my stomach, my lymph nodes and in my stomach lining.
“It felt like I was the professional, telling him the outcome. Kellie, who attended Jeremy’s game against West Coast on Saturday, also expanded on motherhood and marriage after previously saying sheJeremy and Kellie brought their wedding forward, planning the revised event in just three weeks, so her hair was not affected by chemotherapy.She said the couple’s bucket list included anxious questions around their daughter’s future and Jeremy’s wellbeing.“If I were to pass, I would hope that he would find someone to help him raise our child eventually.
“She knows mummy’s sick, but she doesn’t know what’s really going on. She knows that I’ve got ‘owes’,” Kellie said.
