Krakka's owner, Glynis Elgey, from Shiptonthorpe, says she feared she would never see her pet again.
A four-year-old terrier has been reunited with her owner after getting stuck in a rabbit hole. Krakka went missing on Thursday 30 April and was located two days later in a warren close to the village of Shiptonthorpe, in East Yorkshire.
Searches included drafting in a company that specialises in finding lost dogs using a drone and she was eventually found partially buried in mud in an area covered by nettles. Her owner, Glynis Elgey, said: "I was so excited when we found her and she was alive. The first thing she did when we got her out was give me a kiss.
"Talking about Krakka's disappearance, Elgey said: "She always comes back - she never wanders too far, and I thought something is stopping her coming back. " After speaking with a friend, Elgey said she contacted Steve Priestman, from Drone SAR for lost dogs UK, which helps reunite missing dogs with their owners. After a day and a half with no sightings, he said they decided to focus their efforts on "somewhere less obvious".
Elgey said it was at that point they came across an area covered in nettles and her partner heard a whimper and said "that's Krakka". Steve Priestman pictured with Krakka As for learning a lesson, Krakka appears to be unfazed by her experience, and was soon spotted inside another rabbit hole. Priestman, who travelled from Hull to assist, joked he may have to consider a move to Shiptonthorpe to be on hand.
