Lorraine said she’d been told 20 bus drivers had died from Covid-19 at the time of her filming

In a video, Lorraine, 63, told how she felt ‘frightened to die’ as she urged Transport for London and Mayor Sadiq Khan to ensure drivers’ safety.

She said: ‘I want my children and my family to have the letters that I’ve written because I am put at risk by TfL and Khan, by [them] not providing a safe environment for me to work in.’Lorraine continued: ‘I am proud to drive a London bus, I am proud to do my job. I am proud to get frontline services to their place of work and help people. That’s why I’m still driving.

‘But I am frightened that I am going to die, because nobody in government – or Khan, TfL – will not listen to us.’ . She described how her aunt had also died from the virus ‘all alone’.
