Stanford University climate scientist Rob Jackson said that methane’s decadal spike should “terrify us”. Currently, methane is responsible for a nearly 30% increase in global temperature. It is emitted into the atmosphere from wetlands, agriculture, leaks, and the intentional flaring of natural gas in the oil industry.
