John Terry reveals only two clubs made offers for him during his time at Chelsea CFC
John Terry made his feelings clear to Chelsea’s owners when Manchester City came calling in 2009.
The Blues legend chalked up 715 appearances over a trophy-laden 19-year period and was widely recognised as one of world football’s top centre-backs.And with that, came interest from interested parties but Terry admits that he only knew of two offers made for him during his time at the club.a year after they were taken over by Sheikh Mansour’s Abu Dhabi United Group.
Terry was coming off the back of his agonising penalty miss in the 2008 Champions League final defeat toChelsea“I sat with the owner, face-to-face and said ‘I never want to leave Chelsea, that’s a fact. If you want to sell me then it’s a different story, I clearly don’t want to stay. But I’m telling you off the bat that I never want to leave this football club’.

The former England captain was unable to get his wish of never leaving Stamford Bridge and ended his playing career at Aston Villa.Terry has forged out a new path in coaching and spent three years alongside former Villa boss Dean Smith, helping the Midlands club achieve promotion to the Premier League.
