Tesco and Sainsbury’s update product restriction rules for shoppers as lockdown eases
pandemic. The initial rumours of a lockdown sparked panic buying across the UK as shoppers fled to local stores to stock up on everyday items such as toilet paper, eggs, flour and UHT milk. This led to supermarkets putting product restrictions in place that meant shoppers could only buy a limited number of the popular products per shop. Many supermarkets put the rules in place, with limits on items such as eggs, milk, handwash, toilet roll and cleaning wipes.
