TESCO shoppers will now be limited to buying 80 items online as the supermarket struggles to meet demand. Online delivery slots have been sold out for weeks as shoppers try to stock up during the c…

In a statement on its website Tesco said: "As of March 27, we will be capping the amount of items per basket to 80, we will continue to have a maximum limit of three of each product per order.

But shoppers aren't happy about it. One person tweeted: "I am stressed this morning about the shopping situation. "We are a family of five, I am disabled and we are currently self isolating. The 80 item limit is going to seriously impact large families."Another added: "@Tesco as much as I appreciate everything you are doing, and you have been amazing, you have reduced delivery items to 80 per customer.Someone else said: "@Tesco whilst I appreciate all your efforts to keep the nation fed, please can you reconsider your restriction of 80 items per delivery.

Shoppers on social media say Tesco emailed them this morning saying the following: "As you know, we’re currently experiencing a very high demand for our delivery and Click+Collect slots."That’s why we’ll be making some changes."This means that if you make a change to an existing tesco.com order or place a new order, you’ll only be able to order a maximum of 80 items.
