The Food Standards Agency has issued a warning
Tesco customers are being urged to check their fridges, particularly if they've stocked up on party food for the festive season. The supermarket is recalling its own brand Chicken Tsukune Skewers due to incorrect labelling.
The use-by date has been mistakenly marked as December 23 instead of December 10, making the skewers unsafe to consume after December 10. The Food Standards Agency advises against eating the product and encourages customers to return it to any Tesco store for a full refund, no receipt necessary. For further queries, shoppers can reach out to Tesco's customer service team at 0800 505 555. Product recalls are issued when there's an issue with a food product that renders it unfit for sale.
It may be 'withdrawn' from shelves or 'recalled', where customers are asked to return the product. The FSA issues notices to inform consumers and local authorities about food-related problems. In some instances, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued, providing local authorities with specific action instructions on behalf of consumers, reports Grimsby Live.
