Elon Musk confirms Tesla's humanoid robot Optimus will soon have hands with 22 Degrees of Freedom, enhancing its dexterity for complex tasks.
Tesla also shared a video of Optimus, in which the robot sorts batteries and walks around the office.
According to Tesla, the Gen 2 model boasts Tesla-designed actuators and sensors, a 2-DoF actuated neck, and can walk 30 percent faster than its predecessors. The upgraded Optimus Gen 2 hands offered 11 DoF for more precise object manipulation. According to Musk, the DoF will now increase to 22, helping Optimus perform more complex tasks that require more dexterity.
