Okay, it's not that bad—you can still find plenty of four-wheel-drive trucks plowing through the backwoods bogs—but most four-wheelers rack up most of their miles whisking three-piece-suited executives to and from their corporate towers.
42 inches, about a quarter-inch longer than the four's.Replacing last year's optional, GM-built 2.8-liter V-6, the new 4.0-liter boosts the Wagoneer's power by more than 50 percent, to 173 hp at 4500 rpm. Torque has been increased by 47 percent, to 220 pound-feet at 2500. Trailer haulers will be delighted to hear that the new six has upped the Wagoneer's maximum tow rating to 5000 pounds.
