The Rangers have one consensus top-100 prospect according to rankings from both ESPN and MLB Pipeline, which were both updated Wednesday.is No. 38 on MLB Pipeline’s board and No. 47 on ESPN’s. Right-handed pitcher Alejandro Rosario — who is in the midst of a breakout season in Single-A — debuted at No. 93 in ESPN’s rankings, too.Walcott, 18, has slashed .254/.343/.

Rangers general manager Chris Young first watched Rosario pitch three years ago in college. He was at a Louisville baseball game scouting catcher Henry Davis — who was selected first overall in 2021 by the Pittsburgh Pirates, one spot ahead of Texas selection Jack Leiter — and called Rangers scouting director Kip Fagg to flag the then-freshman right-hander.
