It started with Semien’s fifth leadoff home run of the season on Arrighetti’s first pitch. It ended withstriking out Houston’s Yainer Diaz on three pitches in the bottom of the 10th inning and unleashing an emotional fist pump after his 15th save of the season. Jon Singleton singled, too, to load the bases before Jeremy Peña swung and missed at Eovaldi’s fastball for strike three. Rangers catcher Jonah Heim was initially called for catcher’s interference, Peña was awarded first base and Alvarez was set to score and give Houston the lead. A replay showed that Heim did not interfere with Peña’s bat however, the ruling was overturned and Peña was called out.
