The suspect has been charged with smuggling of persons and evading arrest, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Texas state troopers have released a dramatic video showing the arrest of a suspected people smuggler.The car chase culminated in a foot pursuit, before the trooper was able to catch the suspect and arrest him in Maverick County.Roque Flores, of Eagle Pass, has been charged with smuggling of persons and evading arrest, according to Lieutenant Chris Olivarez, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety .
'The trooper should try out for the Olympics,' one joked. Another added: 'Great job by the trooper and @TxDPS.'The video begins with the view of a road from the dashboard camera of the trooper's car, and shows him turning around to follow a Mercedes-Benz that had passed him on the other side of US-277. The other vehicle speeds up and the trooper finds himself in a high-speed pursuit along the empty road.
