Ben Fordham had asked the leaders of the two major parties in NSW to promise the first debate of the state election would not be boring - and they delivered, with the pair repeatedly talking over one another as they grilled each other on policies.

The pair appeared on Ben Fordham's 2GB breakfast show on Thursday where they were seated next to each other and given the opportunity to grill their rival on policies, such as pokies, privatisation, public sector wages and health.

The Labor leader acknowledged it was"good" infrastructure but flagged the privatisation of certain motorways was being paid off"six to eight times over" to private companies. Mr Minns said he would have use state-owned corporation dividends to build infrastructure, a response which was scoffed at by the Liberal leader.

"I don’t think you’ve been listening to frontline workers about what they’re going through each day every day," he said, claiming there have been 60 resignations at Blacktown and Westmead Hospital recently. “You talk a big game in Labor states but you actually don’t deliver, it’s the Liberals and Nationals that have built more hospitals than ever before in our states history.”

"And its one of the leading reasons why if you’re waiting in an ED after hour after hour after hour, its because of a lack of investment from the NSW government. I don’t think he understands how bad it is."
