The Alaska Club is encouraging Alaskans to swim safely for National Water Safety Month.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Club is encouraging Alaskans to swim safely for National Water Safety Month with their I’m a Safe Swimmer pledge.

The Alaska Club has set up stations at the pools to promote the annual campaign. They are asking kids to take the pledge before entering the pool, which is recited as follows;I pledge to always jump in feet first.They will be offering pledge certificates this month in the pool areas of The Alaska Club East, South, Eagle River, Wasilla, and Fairbanks South. The stations will include a photo backdrop for parents to take photos of their children with their certificates.

The Alaska Club will also be offering an educational lesson about water safety taught by the swim instructors and lifeguards. The instructors will be posting educational videos on social media as well.
