Deborah and Ava finally reunite in season three, premiering May 2 on Max
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen newly resurgent comedian Deborah Vance or her writing partner, Ava Daniels , and it’s been almost as long since the two have seen each other. When we last checked in on the duo in Hacks ’ season two finale, Deborah had fired her younger counterpart so she could forge her own path, while her own special, My Bad, was causing a bidding war amongst hungry networks.
As the two re-chart their relationship, they’ll also be faced with new love, new cast members—we finally get our first glimpse of Succession’s J. Smith-Cameron away from the Waystar boardroom—and new hobbies. Namely, pickleball, which feels long overdue for a withering HBO treatment. There will also be some big surprises along the way.
