The Bay is back!
Actors from Derry Girls, Happy Valley and Cold Feet have joined the cast of The Bay as filming began on series five.
Locations including the police station, promenade, jetty, town hall and Midland Hotel have become familiar sights for those watching the show and the seafront will once again be pivotal in the new storyline. The new centres around the investigation into the death of 23-year-old university student Hannah whose body is found on the edge of the docks.
Filming is now taking place and as well as Thomason and Ryan's characters, members of DS Townsend's family and her colleagues are also returning. Olwen May, who played Ryan's headteacher during the second series of Happy Valley, joins the main cast as a new member of the Morecambe MIU team.
