It's going to be tough to dry your clothes this winter
As the climate crisis makes more extreme weather probable, temperatures which already go below 0 in Manchester could head well into the negatives. And, relying on your tumble dryer is an expensive choice, with many people preferring cheaper options to cut back on energy bills.
Then cover the clothes horse with the bed sheet, with one end covering the side of the horse and the other tucked behind the radiator. Then all you have to do is go about your normal business, while a warm pocket of air is trapped under the bed sheet. This helps to speed along the drying process. We tried this out and it helped to half the drying time of a load of clothes. Normally, a rack of clothes would take between six to eight hours, depending on their materials. This is when it's placed in the kitchen or sitting room and not positioned directly beside an active heat source.
