The best and worst schools in county for getting into Oxbridge

One in 16 pupils at Notitngham Girls' Academy progressed to either Oxford or Cambridge University at the end of the 2019/20 academic year

Nottingham Girls' Academy has the best record for sending students to Oxford or Cambridge University of any state-run school or college in Nottinghamshire, it has been revealed. Two of the school’s pupils progressed to one of the country’s top two universities after leaving at the end of the 2019/20 academic year, according to newly released data from the Department for Education.

That’s followed by The Garibaldi School at 5.0% of pupils , The Becket School with 4.4% , and Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology at 4.0% . Bilborough College sent more pupils in total to Oxbridge than any state-run school or college in Nottinghamshire, however. The Henrietta Barnett School in Barnet sent the largest proportion of its 2019/20 cohort to Oxbridge out of any state-run secondary school or college in England. Some 28.2% of pupils made it into the country’s top two universities.
