Though ratings and streaming numbers weren’t amazing, it shows an outright swing-and-miss on decisions, given the show’s viral popularity. It reminds me of FOX’s choice to cancel “Arrested Development” after three seasons and multiple Primetime Emmy awards.
“Winning Time” is incredibly well-made and deserved a longer leash. It deserved to keep telling this incredible tale. Now, we must wait for another company to acquire it, produce new episodes and maintain its high-quality approach. This probably won’t happen, so another great television empire looks like it’s tanking.You may remember Willie Cauley-Stein – drafted sixth overall out of Kentucky in 2015? Yes, that guy. He averaged 8.
Yikes! Those are some sour grapes there. Among 468 top-10 picks since the 1976 ABA-NBA merger, Cauley-Stein ranks 329th in minutes. He wasn’t a bust, but he also wasn’t what he was supposed to be. Hopefully, he finds success and peace in Europe because it doesn’t sound like he wants to return to the NBA.
