Police say they have been called to the pub multiple times
Staff at a local venue which is a 'safe space' for members of the LGBTQ+ community have spoken out following a series of 'suspected hate crimes'. Greater Manchester Police has launched an appeal after bricks were thrown through the windows of the bar and event space on three separate occasions.
The building on Bolton Road, Kearsley, is the former White Horse Inn, which is now known as GH Events. The company took control of the former pub late last year. Speaking to the M.E.N, a member of staff, who preferred to remain anonymous said: 'We are a safe space for all lesbians, gay, bi, trans.. 'Anybody who wants to be what they want to be. The bricks going through the windows have massive effects on that sort of thing. It's just crazy. 'People will always have their own opinions but we're people that are trying to save a building from turning into a HMO and have a venue where people can be safe on a night out.' GMP say they have been called to the former pub three times already this year. The first incident was on January 21, then on February 3 and finally on February 5. Officers are asking for anyone with information of the final incident, including video footage to come forward. A GMP spokesperson said: 'We are appealing for information following reports of three suspected hate crimes at The White Horse Inn on Bolton Road, Bolton. 'Officers have attended the address on three separate occasions, 21 January 2026, 3 February 2026, and 5 February 2026, after it was reported that a brick had been thrown through the windows. 'Anyone who may have information on this incident, including video footage, is urged to come forward and report. 'Our officers take robust action when dealing with any hate related crimes. 'Any info? Contact us on 101 quoting log 665 of 05/02/26 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
