The Chase enthralled viewers on Thursday evening with a standout performance from one "brilliant" contestant, but the episode took a dramatic turn when the hopeful lost £75,000, sparking claims from viewers that the show was "rigged".
James managed to answer 18 questions correctly in the tense final, with viewers rooting for the solo quizzer. However, despite Anne getting a question wrong in the dying seconds, James failed to secure a pushback, much to his disappointment. Another contributed to the discussion by suggesting: "Find it very interesting how Brad give it such a slow build up then a question comes up that can easily be interrupted/answered correctly within those 4 seconds... well done itv you've rigged it to save yourselves 75k. #TheChase".
