The British Gas Energy Plus Boiler Cover March 2020 tariff could save you £260 a year

A fiver will be paid into your bank account within four months of completing the switch. prepayment meter customer customers will receive a £5 Amazon voucher. Open to those 18 and over. UK residents only. It's the cheapest deal from one of the Big Six providers, such as NPower, EDF Energy, E.ON, Scottish Power, SSE.

You will need a smart meter though so it is important to get one installed before you cash in on the savings.Customers will be locked in until March 31, and even though you can switch away at any point, you'll face a £30 early exit fee for doing so. Another bonus is that you can take the tariff - not the boiler cover - with you if you move house mid-term.

Before taking the plunge, it's worth noting that you can actually save even more cash by switching to a smaller energy supplier. But this isn't always recommended because, as MSE warns, sometimes they offer cheap deals to build the business but they're not always sustainable and run a risk of going bust.
