🤔 The cheap February half term holiday destinations nobody else is thinking of
According to Vrbo, the European destinations with the best availability include central Portugal and surf hotspot of Nazaré – accessed from Lisbon in about 90 minutes – and the historic town of Óbidos, slightly further south. Flights to Lisbon during the middle week in February cost around £82.
While the cold water and big waves don’t lend themselves to novices as much as experienced surfers in February, there are plentiful schools along the coast for those keen to brave the waves.Vrbo has also noted good availability in the Calvados department of lower Normandy in France. It’s ideal territory for young teens with an interest in history, with visits to the Bayeux Tapestry and Normandy Landing Beaches, as well as elegant seaside towns Deauville and Trouville.
