This historic commitment of state funds is a tremendous step forward for all of the work ahead to ensure cleaner waters in the Commonwealth.

Shapiro and the General Assembly for including $50 million in new annual funding for the Clean Streams Fund, which extends the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program in Pennsylvania’s General Fund budget for fiscal year 2024-25.

It would not have been possible without the steadfast leadership of Pennsylvania Senators Scott Martin, R-13, and Gene Yaw, R-23. To keep Pennsylvania’s momentum going, CBF urges Gov. Shapiro to join governors from the other Bay states at the Chesapeake Executive Council meeting in December, to recommit to the Bay partnership, and pledge to update the Bay agreement by the end of 2025.
