Managers of pubs across the city centre are standing strong in the face of the cost of living crisis. Many have also noticed an increase in business in the weeks leading up to Christmas with some describing the rush as a 'lifeline' for the industry.

There isn't anything specifically that we've done that I'm aware of but we have brought in a new Christmas menu and cocktail list but it's not heavily advertised so it's hard to know what is drawing people in."
"Pubs in the area are doing a lot better because of the Christmas market which is a lot better than last year. It has made Nottingham a much better place to be and it's a lot nicer on the eye. You can walk around it and feel really Christmassy so it draws more people which is helping the pubs." "Our food prices have gone up a little bit and our cider prices have gone up by 20p. It's all going up a little bit by bit but it does build up over time. Customers haven't said anything as it's all slight changes."
