The hospice is a lifeline for many families
Providing help for seriously and terminally ill children to live life to the full, many people across Merseyside know the important work the charity does. But who is Claire the hospice is named after?
With a shared dream of helping families like theirs, Chris and Bobby, along with a small group of others, started fundraising in 1991. “I knew we’d achieve the dream because, the minute we put the word out, everybody who knew Claire or knew of her wanted to help. But I don’t think we realised how big Claire House would become, or how much fundraising would be needed for it to continue.”
And the mum-of-four explained what will be important in the future for Claire House – 25 years after it exceeded those early expectations.
