Eli Hunt and Catherine Terrell from Valley View Junior High School won the student video contest promoting Jonesboro as the place to be for eclipse weekend.
The East Program at Valley View is a project-based class. One group of students had been focusing on the eclipse all year long, and when the contest was announced, entering was a no-brainer.
“So we were already doing an East project over making a video to help our younger generations figure out how the eclipse works and why it works,” Catherine Terrell, one of the winning students, said.
