The first film was based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger. It saw journalism graduate Andy Sachs landing a job as a junior assistant to the editor-in-chief of a high-fashion magazine. Her new boss, Miranda Priestly , is basically the boss from hell, but Andy manages to battle through a torrid start on the job and soon finds herself becoming more and more like her seemingly cold-blooded mentor.
The sequel will reportedly see Miranda Priestly at the end of her career as she contends with the decline of traditional magazines.has reported that Streep and Blunt are set to reprise their roles. Director David Frankel is reportedly in talks to return for the sequel, as is producer Wendy Finerman .
Anne Hathaway had previously poured cold water on a possible sequel. “I don’t know if there can be ,” she said on The View in 2022. “I just think that movie was in a different era.
