How are we expected to trust government departments when they can't even protect the pillars of life?
Two things have made me furious this week – and both involve government departments that have been downright brainless with the very pillars of life – air and water.
Nitrogen dioxide is also produced when diesel is burned at high temperatures - and it has also been associated with increased mortality and hospital admissions for respiratory conditions. Yet the powers that be, decided in their wisdom, not to check how much potentially harmful smoke they are pumping out into the atmosphere for us all to breathe in.
Yet, in horror of all horrors, the head of DAERA’s natural environment division say he didn’t believe that had an impact. DAERA has clearly known about the issues we are now faced with for decades - yet fired on with pushing growth at a monumental cost to ordinary people and businesses that depended on the lough for their livelihoods.
They are hoping to unite the public across Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales to push the next government to take climate change seriously. The absolute eejit, has for the past week, being trying to convince people with PR push I can only describe as sinister propaganda - that it would be bad for them to insulate their homes, eat less meat, car share, recycle and take less flights.
