Skof opened in Manchester last month, with chef Tom Barnes praised for his curated tasting menus
A renowned food critic has delivered high praise on one of the city centre's newest restaurants, describing it a ‘beacon’ of the city.
Featuring multi-course tasting menus that bring together Tom's modern British cooking with a twist, and focus on skill, quality ingredients and simplicity. Due to its immediate popularity, the restaurant is currently fully booked out until October.This week, The Telegraph’s William Sitwell shared a review of the venue, on Hanover Street, where he described Skof as a ‘slam-dunk reason to love and admire this city’ and going as far as to compare it as ‘the Eiffel Tower of cuisine’.
William described the courses as a ‘dainty, fresh bunch of clever bites’, whilst praising a BBQ lobster dish featuring a layer of beef fat that he felt was the ‘pinnacle’ of what surf and turf should be. Chef Tom, who was previously the formerly executive chef at Simon Rogan's three Michelin Star restaurant L'Enclume in Cumbria, told the Manchester Evening News ahead of Skof’s opening that he wanted the venue to be relaxed and unpretentious.
