Jorge was misdiagnosed as a child with cystic fibrosis and it wasn't until his 40s when his lung condition was revealed to be a disease called primary ciliary dyskinesia. At the age of 64, Jorge received a double lung transplant as a result of Christopher's death as he had signed up to be an organ donor.Christopher's organs ended up being donated to six other people, with his heart, liver, kidneys, pancreas and corneas helping other patients.
