Club photographer Alan Cozzi, who has worked for Watford for more than 40 years, picks his favourites photographs from Wembley 1999.
Without the latter, there would be quite a gap in the club’s pictorial history but, as he has done for more than 40 years, ‘Coz’ as he is known made sure the key moments from that 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers were captured forever.
“Big games and big moments mean you don’t want to miss something that will turn out to be iconic in the club’s history,” he explained. “I had thought about that picture before I even got to Wembley, and I’m really pleased that I got it.” “GT soaked up the moment quite a bit and he talked about wanting to take in the seas of Watford fans celebrating inside Wembley Stadium.
“If you watch the ball go in through the camera then you’re probably too late. You have to be taking shots an instant before it happens. “The good thing was there was nobody videoing on the pitch back then either, so the only people who might ever get in your way were Sky TV cameramen. “But other players were still not back in the dressing room, and GT had gone off to do his media stuff and I know he had a live link with Elton in America.
