Fancy schmancy, but actually extremely affordable
Whether it's Italian, Mexican, Spanish, Chinese or Greek most large town and city centres boast plenty to choose from.
I was at a loose end one lunchtime in Preston and took a cursory glance at nearby restaurants on TripAdvisor. I was somewhat short on time so I utilised the map function to find somewhere fairly close and I was instantly drawn to Bistrot Pierre just a minute's walk away from the train station. Although my eye was immediately drawn to the Steak Frites served with peppercorn sauce but sadly my stomach wouldn't have been able to handle such a large meal. Instead I opted for a starter and thankfully one of my favourite French dishes was on the menu: French onion soup.
