“One of my favourite pictures I did with him was in Miami; I was wearing just black pants and a black shirt, sitting on the beach. But it's that gorgeous black-and-white lighting. It's real, but it's a beautified real. There's no other photographer that's evenof like Peter Lindbergh. His work is identifiable and if you want to get a Lindbergh picture then for sure you needed to get Lindbergh to do it. He understood lighting in a different way. He loved a cloudy day.
“I don't think anyone can talk about Peter without talking about his personality. He was like a big teddy bear. You felt safe; you were in the best hands possible, and I remember feeling really comfortable. He wasn't looking for the facade of beauty; he not only saw inner beauty, but he was able to photograph that. And if I knew how he did, I would do it myself! That was his magic.
