The First Descendant player count has noticeably declined, but fans needn't worry yet especially when comparing to Helldivers 2.
The First Descendant has been out for over a month, and it’s only natural that the player count has dropped from its highest of highs at launch. While some may be concerned about the declining numbers, The First Descendant player count is ultimately nothing for fans to worry about especially compared to other multiplayer experiences like Helldivers 2.
In the publisher’s investors call for August, Nexon reported that, while it “immediately became the top-selling title and was ranked as a top-five most played game on Steam,” most players come from console with “approximately 60%”. In addition, Nexon attributed the drop in Steam traffic to the loss of casual players. There is recognition that the core player base remains strong, and there is an expectation that the game will remain big and contribute to success in Q3 2024.
