Trafford has the highest house prices of all the region's 10 boroughs, but there are some cheaper gems hidden amongst its affluent areas
In a region as big as Greater Manchester, it's no surprise that house prices fluctuate from one borough to the next. Whilst boroughs such as Bolton, Oldham and Wigan are recognised for having fairly affordable properties, Trafford is notoriously known as the region's most expensive borough to buy a home.
Using Rightmove's latest house price data retrieved from the HM Land Registry, we've found the cheapest areas to buy a home in Trafford at the moment. Despite being Trafford's cheapest area, house prices in Partington have gone up by 10 percent up over the last year, and are 20 percent up on the 2021 peak of £194,585.
Overall, house prices in Old Trafford were 15 percent cheaper than the previous year, and 1 percent down on the 2021 peak of £237,659. On the whole, property prices in the area are 18 percent higher than the previous year, however they are 12 percent down on the 2019 peak of £305,500. Broadheath With an average house price of £544,087 over the last year, Altrincham is not considered to be an affordable part of Trafford. However, Broadheath, a town within Altrincham, has much cheaper house prices.
