The free festival that celebrates child literacy and offers several team building activities will happen Sunday, Sept. 8.
The Los Angeles Kids Book Festival is a free event happening Sunday, Sept. 8 at West Hollywood Park. The Los Angeles Kids Book Festival returns for a free one-day event for children of all reading levels and ages.
The festival will take place on Sunday, Sept. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at West Hollywood Park. Bookworms can expect 70 exhibitors, live book readings, interactive storytelling sessions, musical performances and arts and crafts. Other activities on the program include face painting, a photo booth, dancing, games, slime making, food trucks, and free Universal Pictures and DreamWorks giveaways.
Some of the special guests this year include Emmy Award-Winning actress Mykal-Michelle Harris, the voice of Disney Junior’s “Ariel” and star of the upcoming “Raven’s Home” Spinoff “Alice in the Palace.” Pulitzer Prize-winning author, who penned “The Sympathizer,” which was recently adapted into a miniseries for Max, will also appear to sign books and meet fans.
Entertainment for the day will include a live art installation by artist Juan Muniz dubbed Love Bug & Me, performances by, Chloé and Maud Arnold from the Emmy award-nominated female tap dance troupe The Syncopated Ladies, and the international tap dancers The Sole Talks. The Los Angeles Kids Book Festival is held in West Hollywood annually and is dedicated to promoting children’s literacy and celebrating young authors. The event also collaborates with the American Born Chinese Foundation, a public charity that aims to increase bilingual literacy and celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander creators.
