Assistant manager Gerard Lyttle explains the reason behind Cliftonville's set-piece plans
Gerard Lyttle has offered an insight into Cliftonville's set-piece genius that helped kick-start Monday's North Belfast derby success.
It was Cliftonville's first win over Crusaders at Seaview since Boxing Day 2019, a result that Lyttle says "got the monkey off" after such a barren run at the home of their bitter rivals.Manager Jim Magilton hailed the influence of Lyttle after Monday's game, crediting his assistant for coming up with the set-piece move than led to Gallagher's opener.“Gerard Lyttle has to take all the credit for the set-pieces. I don’t do set-pieces, Gerard does all of them.
"We knew that we couldn't just throw the ball into the box against Crusaders. We know what they're about," Lyttle said.
