Fashion – like disco music – was key to Jonny Lamb and Daniel Budden’s big day.
Daniel Budden wore a rather surprising “something blue” on his wedding day: a replica “Heart of the Ocean” necklace by Vetements. “Anyone who knows me knows my obsession with the Titanic, so this felt fun and very party,” he says now. The choice also reflects the attention to detail with which Daniel and his husband, Jonny Lamb, approached every element of their big day – particularly the fashion.
His vibrant reception outfit comprised wide-leg Bottega Veneta trousers in duck-egg blue, and a pink silk Versace shirt. “I finished the evening look with a crystal embellished Versace gold necklace.” Roker – a client of Jonny’s at Avenue Communications, the PR firm he founded – took care of the shoes. Founder Alim Latif made two custom pairs for the groom: navy leather for the day, and navy python for the night.
Both from creative backgrounds – Daniel is global head of celebrity at 111 Skin – the couple decided to plan their celebrations themselves. “We did speak to a couple of planners,” says Jonny, “but they kept saying anything that they could bring to the table we’d already covered off.” The ceremony was held in the Westminster Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall, close to the couple’s home, then black cabs ferried the wedding party and guests to the Foundling Museum for cocktail hour. “It was the most stunning combination of classic London history, architecture and art as a backdrop, combined with truly beautiful floristry from our dear friend and florist extraordinaire, Rachael Barker,” says Jonny.
