Another heat wave sets up with a string of 90-degree days & dew points in the 70s. Heat Advisory in effect for Sunday. Excessive Heat Watch in effect for Monday. Heat index up to 110° possible.
After a brief break from the hot temperatures, 90s return today and continue through midweek. Clouds slowly erode this morning. There may be spotty drizzle or a shower this morning in the southeast along a stalled boundary but most of the area is dry. Temperatures return the low 90s this afternoon under increasing sunshine. A disturbance in the upper levels brings a few more clouds back for the evening. A stray shower or thundershower can’t be ruled out otherwise it is mainly a dry day.
Dangerous heat expected with heat index values up to 110° possible. This is when you really need to watch for signs of heat related illnesses. Those with respiratory issues, or heart problems, small children and the elderly may need to take it easy outdoors today. Also, do not leave children or pets in your car under no circumstance! Highs Tuesday will be in the upper 90s to near 100°. It’s another very hot day Wednesday in the mid -90s, prompting another IMPACT DAY.
